Primary Market Research
Trinity provides customized primary market research, offering evidence-based answers to drive business strategy. We are skilled in conducting market research surveys insofar as defining the target population, writing the survey instrument, collecting and cleaning the data, and ultimately analyzing and interpreting the results. Well-developed surveys and proper sample sizes are essential to producing statistically valid results that are projectable to a national level. These results lead to analyses of our client's competitive strengths and weaknesses, analyses that help them to prioritize their initiatives in a manner that will enhance their position in the marketplace.
We specialize in quantitative studies with complex designs, including nationally-projectable physician panel studies.
CASE EXAMPLE
Situation
A biotech company needed an in-depth profile of the treatment patterns and prescription habits of physicians treating cancer patients in Europe. A review of existing data sources revealed incongruities with the company's requirements of real-time, representative data with a focus on supportive care product usage secondary to chemotherapy treatment.
Approach
Trinity developed and implemented a survey tailored to answer our client's specific questions. The survey commenced in France, Germany, Italy, and the UK, and is administered monthly to oncology physicians. By year's end, we will collect data on 10,000 unique cancer patients with the subsequent addition of 10,000 unique patients each year.
Result
Trinity's analysis of the initial data revealed a lower than expected market penetration of the client's product due to insufficient recognition by oncology physicians of the need to provide treatment. In order to raise awareness of this need to treat, our client has implemented various initiatives, including expanded clinical programs, into their business plans for next year.
Additionally, this survey has generated a rich database on current chemotherapy regimens, stratified by tumor type, stage, and line of therapy. These data have already proven instrumental in a recent licensing deal, as our client was able to demonstrate a fundamental understanding of the latest practice habits of oncology physicians in Europe.
